Code enforcement addresses a wide range of property issues that affect our environment, health, safety, and property values that enhance quality of life. It is often a difficult task in maintaining the balance between the rights of individual property owners and the welfare of the general public when enforcing the codes, but hiring a code enforcer is the next step for Green River in eliminating blighted properties. Below is the job posting for the first ever City of Green River code enforcer. The position is currently coupled with the Special Function Officer (aka animal control), which makes sense to some extent. There have already been two applications for the position, but please share the job posting with anyone in the region who is qualified. Everyone at Epicenter has always been a strong advocate for the City Council hiring a code enforcement officer, so this is great news for us!
