A Green River Soundscape

Audio recording by Molly Marcello and Zoe Gardner
Sound mixing by Molly Marcello

What does Green River sound like? It sounds like geese honking above Swasey’s rapids. A crowd cheering at the Melon Days watermelon eating contest. The final buzzer at a Green River High School basketball game. Rumbling trains moving slowly on the tracks. An old metal building creaking in a windstorm. Water lapping rhythmically on the river bank. In this audio collage of Green River, we listen closely to the places in our town that sound like home.
