The Union Pacific Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Union Pacific Corporation and Union Pacific Railroad. Union Pacific believes that the quality of life in the communities in which its employees live and work is an integral part of its own success. Originally created as the Union Pacific Railroad Foundation in Omaha, Nebraska, the Foundation has distributed funds since 1959 to qualified organizations in communities served by Union Pacific. The Foundation is not endowed, but is funded each year from the operating profits of Union Pacific Corporation. The Foundation has a strong interest in promoting organizational effectiveness among nonprofits. To that end, the Foundation will dedicate the majority of these grants to help nonprofit organizations build their capacity, increase their impact, and operate more efficiently and effectively. The Union Pacific Railroad serves the community of Green River by providing many jobs to local residents. We appreciate the Union Pacific Foundation’s continued support towards our organization’s effectiveness and efficiency as we serve Green River residents along their side. In addition to continued financial support, we appreciate Union Pacific’s Director of Public Affairs for Utah, Idaho, and Montana, Dan Harbeke, who invites us to Union Pacific Foundation events and visits us in Green River. Thank you!
